BSB Webinar: Job Satisfaction after Research
Racquel Wright's picture

Webinar: The speaker is a PhD in Astrophysics who became the founder of a Job Agency for researchers. Combining her own experience with theoretical elements and with the stories of other PhDs who moved outside Academia, she will give some insight about what affects motivation and job satisfaction, focusing on the research-to-business transition.

Speaker: Born in Milan in 1983 and graduated in Physics from the University of Milan-Bicocca, Eva obtained her PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Amsterdam in 2013. Alongside Gualtiero Cortellini, Eva is Co-Founder of Find Your Doctor, the first employment agency in Italy specialised in the placement of researchers outside the Academia.  The initiative, with a non-profit approach, started in 2014 and became an innovative start-up and a formally recognised job agency in 2017, combining recruitment with advanced scientific consultancy for companies and organisations. This original model favours an easier access to researchers for companies of any size and promotes a better understanding of their background and skills. Eva is involved in the strategic development of the start-up, designing and testing new services and projects, but also works as an Innovation Manager to assess clients' requirements and recruit the necessary expertise. She is also a trainer in workshops and seminars for PhD students about their professional perspectives.

Joaquin Capablo's picture

Dear all,

In the following lines you can find some info about some talks organized by the Italian Chapter:

The MCAA Italy Chapter is happy to announce the “Science Communication talk series” which will be open to all the MCAA Members. Since we would like to make it as interactive as possible, the number of seats is limited and we will give the priority to the MCAA Italy Chapter, but there is plenty of room for members of any chapter. In case the request will be very high, we can also think to re-organize it soon.

What is it? A series of short talks and labs about different scicomm topics.

When is it? February and March 2021, at lunch time (no more than 2h in the time range 12:00-15:00).

Where is it? Online with Zoom and/or GoToMeeting.

What benefits? We can officially report/certificate the number of hours of the course and your institute can decide to convert them into ECTS points (credits). Moreover, we will assign an award to the best communicator (details available soon).

How much does it cost? Registration fee is 50€.

Who can apply? There will be a limited number of seats. The priority will be given to the MCAA Italy Chapter Members, then to the MCAA Members of the other chapters and, in case of some seat left, it will be open to non-members.

When the registration deadline?  The 14th of February 2021.

The final program will be available very soon as well as the registration link. At the moment, if you are interested please write an email to italy.chapter@mariecuriealumni.eu Due to the limited number of seats, we suggest to register as soon as possible. If you are MC fellows at the moment, the event can be reimbursed within your training activity budget.
