“How to Draft a PhD Research Proposal”- EURAXESS ASEAN Career Development Webinar Series 2021 – Session 1

One of the most common questions asked by PhD applicants is "How do I write a research proposal"? This introductory session will give future PhD students insight into developing a strong PhD proposal and improving their skills in research proposal writing.
 

Participants will receive guidance from our expert speaker Prof. Dr. Ronald Holzhacker, from Groningen University in the Netherlands. MSCA Fellow Dr Ernesto Jusayan Guades will share his advice on how to draft a successful PhD proposal.

This session takes place on Monday, 15 March 2021 from 3pm Jakarta/4 pm SGT  (9am CET).

This event is free of charge and open to all future PhD applicants from across ASEAN.

About the Speakers
Prof Holzhacker is Professor of Comparative Multilevel Governance and Regional Structure in the Faculty of Spatial Science, Department of Spatial Planning and Environment, and the Faculty of Arts, Department of International Relations and International Organization. He holds a PhD from the University of Michigan in political science, and a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School. He is founding Director of the Groningen Research Centre for Southeast Asia and ASEAN (SEA ASEAN) located in Groningen and Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He leads an inter-disciplinary team of scholars and 20 PhD researchers engaged in theoretically driven comparative research focused on governance, societal impact, and sustainable society in Southeast Asia. He is published in such journals as Law & Policy, Comparative European Politics, Journal of European Integration, European Union Politics, Nations and Nationalism, Party Politics, Journal of Legislative Studies, and the Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration.

 

Dr Ernesto Jusayan Guades is a postdoctoral researcher with the Villum Center for Advanced Structural and Material Testing, Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark. He is a previous MSCA fellow of the H.C. Ørsted COFUND project.
