Mobility is both a significant challenge and an opportunity for many researchers. In this event we will look at some of the ways in which the use of language influences our research and builds up scientific societies, and also at how, when used in outreach activities, it can have positive impacts for communities.
We will first hear from Joana Moscoso, founder and director of Native Scientist (https://www.nativescientist.com/), a non-profit organisation that connects scientists and children through their native language. We will continue the conversation on organised scientific diaspora and the heritage language through short presentations and a roundtable discussion. The final discussion will be followed by a quick lunch and an informal networking session.
This event is co-organised by SRUK/CERU, PARSUK, and the MCAA - UK Chapter.
