Following the success of the first Latin America MCAA Research Conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Brazilian and the Argentinian chapters of the Marie Curie Alumni Association invite you for the second edition of the event, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Austrian Research Promotion Agency

Dr. Lil Reif is working since 2015 at FFG as an expert for MSCA and EURAXESS. Before that, Lil was a researcher in the fields of HE development and digital media in education at Danube University Krems, Austria, has been working as a lecturer at Ventspils Augstskola and as consultant for Riga Graduate School of Law, Latvia, and was a tutor for autonomous language learning at the Language Centre at Humboldt University Berlin. Lil studied Russian, Portuguese and Law in Berlin, Moscow and Évora and graduated from Humboldt University with a university diploma in translation studies, took postgraduate courses in educational management and organizational development and holds a PhD from the University of Klagenfurt with a dissertation on language policy in Latvia. Since 2012, she is a pool member of the Institutional Evaluation Programme of the EUA, to support quality assurance and institutional development

MCAA Vice president

Mostafa is a Vice-Chair of Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA). He successfully manages the internal governance & sponsorship of the association. He led the organization of 2019 MCAA Annual Conference with more than 800 registrations and 24 parallel sessions. 

His training and expertise include Science Diplomacy, Entrepreneurships, Intercultural Competences, and Alumni Relations. He has organized sessions on Entrepreneurships, Project Proposal Writing, Supporting Researchers Mobility at national & international events including European Open Science Forum in 2018, MSCA 2019 and Vitae Researcher Development International Conference 2019. He also provides training and Keynote talks on Career Paths for Researchers at universities and research institutions.

He is currently working as a Post-doctoral Researcher at European Research Council funded Project at TU Wien. Previously, he worked at Austrian Science Fund & Austrian Research Promotion Agency and COST Action projects. From his masters’ work in Netherlands and research endeavours in Belgium, he gathered a variety of experience and established an effective network of peers. He finished his B.Sc. from Bangladesh. His efforts and achievements have own him several awards in research including Young Scientist Award at European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) in Lille 2015 and at International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM)  in Prague 2014 and in Sydney 2018. He also received MCAA Alumni of the Year Award 2014, the first award of its kind. From 2016, he is a fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society, UK.

Foi pesquisadora de Pós-Doutorado (FAPESP) no Departamento de Patologia Veterinária da Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias - Unesp, campus Jaboticabal (2008-2009).Tem experiência na área de Medicina Veterinária: Enfermidades Parasitárias dos Animais e Patologia Clínica, com ênfase em Proteínas de Fase Aguda da Inflamação e Parasitismo por Nematódeos. Docente permanente do Curso de Pós-graduação em Medicina Veterinária da FMVZ, Unesp, campus Botucatu. Dr. Pablo Emiliano Tomatis started his research training during his undergraduate thesis at Institute of Investigations in Biotechnology in Buenos Aires Argentina. He graduated as Master in Biotechnology in 2000
Then in 2002 he started to work on directed molecular evolution of metallo-beta-lactamases as his PhD thesis project at the School of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Rosario, Argentina. He was awarded with several Postgraduate Research Fellowships to support his PhD thesis work.
In 2008 obtained his PhD degree Summa cum laude, and soon after he continued working as a postdoctoral fellow of the Argentinean National Research Council at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology of Rosario, Argentina.
Since 2011 he is Researcher as Staff member of Argentinean National Research Council, working on structural adaptability on protein evolution.
From 2012 until the end of 2015, worked as postdoc at the University of Zürich, Switzerland, thanks to a Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship and to Novartis Stiftung für medizinisch-biologische Forschung
After his postdoctoral training abroad, he returned to Argentina to work as a Researcher in the Metalloprotein Lab at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology of Rosario, Argentina.
He Is also Teaching Assistant in Biophysics, School of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Rosario (UNR).
Dr. Tomatis is an active member of the MCAA Argentinian chapter, involved in: Communication and Dissemination of Chapter Activities, ​​​​​mentoring platform for those interested in applying to MC Actions, organizing worshops for aplicants and international webinars.
Since october 2017 is chair of the MCAA Argentinian chapter.

I am an applied & multidisciplinary scientist with a background in Pharmacy (BSc), Chemistry (MSc), and Chemical Engineering (PhD), passionate about helping companies to find innovative solutions for their process & products. As a Marie Curie Fellow, I have experience working in international & collaborative environments and enjoy working in Science Policy, managing projects and organising events. I served as the chairman of the Association of Brazilian Researchers in the United Kingdom, I am a founding member of the Brazilian Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association, member of its Science Policy working group, and an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry since 2012.

Professor adjunto do Departamento de Biologia da Universidade Federal do Maranhão. É o atual coordenador do Programa de Pós-graduação em Saúde e Ambiente (PPGSA), além de compor o núcleo permanente do programa em Biodiversidade e Conservação (PPGBC) e Oceanografia (PPGOceano). É graduado em Biologia pela Universidade Federal do Pará (2007), possui mestrado em Genética e Biologia Molecular (2009) pela mesma universidade e doutorado em Química Sustentável pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2013) com bolsa Marie Curie (projeto BIOCOR ITN). Desenvolveu o pós-doutorado no Laboratório de Tecnologia Biomolecular (UFPA) em compostos bioativos e biocombustíveis oriundos de cianobactérias. Tem experiência na área de: (i) diversidade, bioquímica e biologia molecular de microrganismos; (ii) bioinformática; (iii) biocorrosão; e (iv) microbiomas. Compõe o corpo editorial da revista "Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology". É vice-presidente do conselho do Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) Brazil Chapter.
