by Luana Parisi

We are delighted to announce that the MCAA Genders, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group, in partnership with BPW International, will be co-hosting a session at the Science Summit 2025 in New York, part of the United Nations General Assembly 80, which will run from 9–26 September 2025.

The Summit will highlight the central role of science in tackling global challenges within planetary boundaries, with the ultimate aim of enhancing well-being worldwide.

Our session, STEMpower: Women-Led Scientific Collaborations Advancing Gender-Inclusive Innovation for the SDGs, will take place on 12 September at 16:00 CET. It will focus on the transformative role of women-led collaborations in science and technology, exploring approaches that make research more equitable, relevant, and impactful, such as:

  • Co-creation with communities

  • Inclusive and disaggregated data practices

  • Equitable authorship and funding

  • Equity by design in governance

The emphasis will be on moving from dialogue to action: identifying gaps, fostering collaborative solutions, and building partnerships that embed gender equity across the global SDG research ecosystem.

We warmly invite our community to join us: https://event.sciencesummitnyc.org/signup
